Seattle, this year. A cloud provider with four thousand nine hundred employees runs an insider-risk program built on a framework Nate Cobb published in 2018, run by somebody who has read every word he has written and who disagreed with his caveats for reasons that are good. He is retained to assess the one employee who complained about the program and is now inside it. And he arrives to find that everybody in the building has already been interviewed using his own four rules, by somebody better rested than he is. It is the first move in seventeen years that is his and not his wife's. His father dies in June. And in a kitchen in Cleveland his sister tells him what the four words actually were.
