Read it:

Iceland, the year 1000. At the Althing the country decides, in one day and one night, by arbitration, four hours short of a war it did not want, that all Iceland shall be Christian — with three concessions, and with no word of any kind about the dead. Which leaves a draugr who has been a party at law for nine years either a person with rights under a law that no longer exists, or a person with rights under one that has simply continued, or nothing at all. Nobody will decide. And the man who has just inherited the ground he is buried in is reasonable, wants to know what he owes and to whom, and has been told the new faith has a remedy that needs no court.
